Hot Tapping Procedure for Your Water Main System
When you want to tap into an existing water main, you have two options, either shut down the system entirely or use the method of live tapping, also known as hot tapping.
Post shutting down the system, the water has to undergo treatment and several other procedures. Considering those aspects, hot tapping is preferred by most people.
In the hot tapping procedure, the tapping fitting is to be placed onto a water main, in addition to a gate or ball valve that will control the water. You will hardly face any problems with water pressure or quality with the live tapping system.
